Sometimes, you have to run away from the noise of the city and spend a few days in a peaceful, calm place, where you can see the sunrise and have a sweet hot tea without worrying about what comes later. This calm environment is exactly what we offer with our 4 days 3 nights desert trip to Merzouga from Marrakech.
Here is our program:
Day 1: From Marrakech to the Dades Valleys
We will pick you up in Marrakech at 7 am, and start our journey by driving for 2 hours across the highest mountain pass in North Africa, the Tizi N’ Tichka pass in the Atlas Mountains. We will then stop to take pictures of the beautiful nature around, and have a good, filling Moroccan breakfast.
After that, we will drive towards Ourzazate. We’ll drop by the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage and one of the oldest Kasbahs in Morocco, then we will visit the Film Studios of the city where many famous movies were shot.
After our adventure in Ouarzazate, we will hit the road again to visit Skoura City, where we’ll see many Kasbahs and then continue ou journey to our hotel in the Dades Valley. All along the road, we’ll be able to take pictures of the diverse landscape.
Day 2: From the Dades Valley to Merzouga
After having breakfast in our hotel, we will head towards Todgha city, where we’ll discover the magical Todgha Gorges, a haven of peacefulness in the heart of the High Atlas. We’ll then leave to Tinjdad village to have lunch. Our journey towards Merzouga will takes us through the cities of Arfoud and Rissani, where you’ll see huge sand dunes.
By the afternoon, we’ll have reached our hotel in Merzouga where we’ll be able to relax for a bit. Then, we’ll continue our adventure by riding camels across the desert for 90 minutes to our tents in the heart of the desert. There, we will drink sweet mint tea with the nomads, and watch the sunset over the dunes of the Sahara desert.Dinner will be served around he campfire and accompanied with traditional music.
Day 3: From Merzouga to Tamnougalt Kasbah
Waking up early, we will enjoy one of the most beautiful sights a human being can experience: a sunrise over the dunes of the Sahara desert. After that, we will get back to the city of Merzouga on camelback and have breakfast in our hotel, and of course relax, shower, have a break (o whatever else you have in mind). After that, we will be on the road again and head towards Tazarin city and Alnifs city. Arriving to K’nobs, a little town on the road famous for palm groves, we’ll have lunch. After that, we’ll take the road to Agdez village and spend our night in Tamnougalt Kasbah.
Day 4: From Tamnougalt Kasbah to Marrakech
At 9 am, we will leave our hotel to go the “Thousand Kasbahs”, where we’ll visit the Glaoui Kasbah, Taourirt in Ouarzazate. We will also visit Amerzgane village again. We’ll have a break from the road in Agalmous Village, and then hit the road again until we arrive to Marrakech in the evening.
